From the moment Usha Vance was introduced to the world as JD Vance’s wife, I was concerned. Not because she gave me any reason to be, but because the MAGA Cult has become pretty predictable, and I knew exactly what they were going to say upon seeing a brown-skinned woman as their potential Second Lady. They wasted no time in proving me right: the night she graced the RNC stage, the commentary from the Far Right Hell Hole of the internet began. Without proof, people from both sides rushed to make assumptions about her viewpoints based on her educational, ethnic, and working background despite no clear-cut evidence. I, for one, wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt. Plenty of women hold viewpoints that do not align with their spouse, and given JD Vance’s history of moving to the right, I was going to wait until provided with proof to feel otherwise about Usha.
