As a young child, I had a quest for knowledge and gravitated toward famous historical figures who looked like me. I read about people like Gordon Parks, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Jr., Nelson Mandela, and Marcus Garvey, to name a few. One thing I never wondered about those heroes growing up was their net worth. There is a phenomenon where the American public is more concerned about someone being a billionaire than their character. If there is something that the American public can learn a lesson from, it is that if you're on a Forbes list, maybe we shouldn't have them in the White House.
