South Carolina is poised to have an all-white Supreme Court with the confirmation of Court of Appeals Judge Letitia Verdin.

Verdin is set to become the newest justice after the two other candidates, Conway Judge Blake Hewitt and Columbia Circuit Judge Jocelyn Newman, backed out on May 30 and May 28, respectively.
