As Nancy Mace continues her descent down the far-right rabbit hole, new details have emerged about her friendship with conspiracy theorist and so-called “journalist” Laura Loomer.
Loomer, who has spread many conspiracy theories about 9/11 and has described herself as a “proud Islamophobe and pro-white nationalism” has often been considered a key player in the Trump campaign, traveling with Trump to Philadelphia for Tuesday’s debate with Kamala Harris.
Loomer recently came under fire for tweeting a racist joke about Kamala Harris. The tweet read:
If @KamalaHarris wins, the White House will smell like curry & White House speeches will be facilitated via a call center and the American people will only be able to convey their feedback through a customer satisfaction survey at the end of the call that nobody will understand.
The tweet drew ire from both parties with White House Press Secretary Karine-Jean Pierre and notable Republicans Lindsey Graham and Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Mace herself also has a history of making racist comments including refusing to pronounce Kamala Harris’ name correctly and supporting a conspiracy theory pushed by Republicans that Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio are eating people’s cats and dogs.
However, Nancy Mace has remained completely silent about Loomer’s latest controversy. In fact, she still seems to support her newest friend whole-heartedly.
During this election cycle, Loomer has only donated to two campaigns this election cycle; Donald Trump’s and Nancy Mace's. She has donated a total of $521.00 to Mace and $2,166 to Trump
Loomer has not been shy about her support for Mace tweeting out her endorsement of the incumbent Congresswoman earlier this year.
Mace has also appeared on Loomer’s show before where she touts the latest Republican conspiracy theory.
In March she appeared on “Loomer: Unleashed” to discuss why Republicans were passing a security bill without southern border funding.
During the interview, Mace also spoke about how proud she was to receive Donald Trump’s endorsement and talked about how the border was the most important issue in her district (even though her district is nowhere near the southern border),
She also explained her reasoning behind withdrawing her support from Kevin McCarthy, calling him “a complete loser that needs a job”.
As someone who once branded herself an independent and moderate Republican, Nancy Mace has now fallen far off the wagon that she’s okay with being friends with someone who promotes racist lies and conspiracy theories.
These two make you want to dye your hair blonde.
Totally on brand for Nancy Mace. We have to vote this sham of a congressperson out!
