Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire
When I was young, saying the "L" word was akin to saying a curse word. And you definitely didn't call someone the "L" word, unless they truly deserved it. After last night's debate performance, there should be no doubt left that Trump should absolutely be called a liar.
That man wouldn't know the truth if it slapped him in the face. Not only does he lie, but I think he actually believes the lies. And the sad thing is, so do his supporters. It has gotten so bad that now we refer to outright lies as "alternative facts" or "false claims," and we have to fact-check everything he says.
Last night, that task fell on the team at ABC News, the hosts of the first and maybe only presidential debate between VP Kamala Harris and Trump. Debate moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis had the task of calling out Trump's lies live for an American audience of over 60 million viewing from home. While they directly called him out on four lies, according to CNN's Daniel Dale, Trump actually lied at least 33 times.
