Clearly, Donald Trump did not get the memo about AKAs, the Divine Nine, Taylor Swift, and the Swifties! I attended a debate watch party as a host and I am going to be honest here, I had no idea what to expect. I knew Vice President Kamala Harris was going to be prepared and more than likely she was going to win the debate but not in my Wildest Dreams did I think it was going to be the bloodbath that it was and she did it with Style. People like Elon Musk who are just living out loud as misogynistic bigots even had to acknowledge that Vice President Harris did a phenomenal job during this debate. This debate was over from the first handshake that she essentially forced upon him.

There was a moment when we saw Vice President Harris put her hand under her chin and the expression she made, I believe we all have seen and interpreted in some way, shape, or form. To me, it looked like what we say to people here in South Carolina when they are just so wrong and off base. It looked like a collective “Bless your heart” moment to me. I almost ordered a sweet tea to wash down some good ol 'shrimp and grits while putting on my Cardigan. Some other interpretations I saw came from my good friend and colleague South Carolina Representative Justin Bamberg. He said that was the look your girlfriend gives you when she has caught you in a lie and knows it's a lie but also for you to know that she knows it's a lie.

For the people who are confused about Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, please do a quick Google search on the history of these amazing women. I happen to be married to one. These are some of the strongest, most hardworking, most intelligent, and most capable women walking this planet and for Donald Trump in his eternal ignorance to reduce them to a “sorority party” shows his non-existent interest in the black experience. I, too, am a member of the divine nine. I am a member of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated and our organizations are not the same as historically white fraternities and sororities. We are much more involved socially and politically as these organizations were founded for the advancement of black people. Dr. King was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated, and Jesse Jackson is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated. The late John Lewis was a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated. After college, I can assure you that no matter the organization we pledged in college, we stick together for the common good of the people. If you come for one of us you come for all of us.

This mollywhopping was so bad that Taylor Swift said geez I've seen enough and she formally announced her endorsement. This “Swift” beating was done so eloquently that I guarantee the Trump campaign this morning called Trump and said “Donald, just Shake It Off. It was like Bad Blood from the beginning. Then after Trump talked about immigrants eating pets, Kamala looked at him like I Knew You Were Trouble. Donald Trump's arguments were So High School and the American people last night collectively decided that We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.
